Hi, there! Today Jessica want to dispel a little romantic image of the Addams family. "I wanna do that for those, who still remember these wonderful films. In reality, it's not fun to live in such conditions. Besides, it's not romantic at all. As you get it, I live in such kinda family. Our house is a real mansion. My parents bought this scary place and restored it from scratch. I saw documents - there were only walls left from our old house. They perfectly fit in the interior. Beside me, my parents, mum's sister, our grandpa and my older brother live there. My brother is already 20, but he doesn't care much. He's not gonna move out. I have «had fun» since I was a kid. The age difference between my brother and me was about 5 years. Certainly, we weren't like enemies, but we weren't friends either. In childhood he played tricks on me, and not always in a good way. Most of the time, I was punished. Of course, he didn't do it directly. He knew that he could be punished too. But It's not a problem for a person with imagination to make traps in a large mansion. I was locked in the cellars. They were real catacombs - they weren't even restored. Sometimes I was locked in old cupboards. My brother could lure me into the garden and leave me there. It could bring a 3 or 5-year-old kid to panic and fractures. At 5 I became smarter, and didn't care about his provocations. He couldn't mislead me anymore. The thing was that our parents had a very philosophical opinion on this - what doesn't kill us, make us stronger. As for a little girl's nightmares, they are such a trifle! Actually, my bro had almost a full carte blanche for my extermination. However, the older we got, the less he had a passion for such games. Besides, he figured out quickly that as a grown-up, I could hit him back. So, he decided to get on well. I was almost priceless as his ally against our parents. For example, I didn't give him out, when he went out with his friends for the whole night, or kinda that. So, Alex and I grew up on our own. That's why, we both have a bad temper. People say that we are harmful and aggressive. Well, that's fair. Naïve people couldn't survive in our mansion. They would die right in one of the corridors. Besides, It's useless to shout and fend off. There is no acoustics. You can't hear what's going on in the next room at all. We also have 2 cats - Bamby and Garfield. Bamby is black, and Garfield is tricolor. There is no logic in our family. Fluffy friends are nice. Besides, they protect our house from rats. Sometimes I think that they are smarter than they want to look like. In fact, you could ask them to lead you to the place you needed. You also could ask the cats to make a noise and distract attention. Our cats are really smarter than people, living in this house. It was proved in one awful situation. There has been a fire in our house recently. The half of the mansion burned down. Only because of luck and active work of firemen, there weren't people in that part. The problem was in wiring. Repairs are good! But the building itself is old. There could water leaks in some places in the roof. So, when we felt the smoke, everyone was in different parts of the house. I was playing in the garden, so I watched the whole mess. But I didn't take part in it. I had nothing to save. I wasn't materialistic, thanks to my parents. Cats went out on their own. The rest could evacuate themselves. This case clearly showed a total indifference of my parents to the whole thing. Grandpa got out the first and called the police. You know what he had in his hands? Documents with a mini-safe. It contained money for the last day. But the rest behaved unpredictably. For some reason, dad grabbed the new coat. Then he was rushing with it at the territory like a psycho. Mom rushed to save her greenhouse. She yelled that there were rare roses that could die because of fire. Aunt worried about the cats. But when she found them on the street, she got quiet. So, she began to wait. Adults forgot about Alex and me. Maybe, they didn't care much. But I prefer to think that they forgot about us in panic. Okay, I was in the garden, and my aunt saw me. As for Alex, he was sleeping at home. In the burning house! Ugh! Sleeping! It's interesting if firemen hadn't extinguished the house, how would have parents reacted at son's death? Besides, when Alex got... he was sleeping in the burning house, he didn't get upset at all. He even woke up when the firemen were gone. Dad was fighting with the insurance company. He woke up not because of noise. He just slept well. Six months later, the mansion was restored by insurance. As to this story, it became a nice family anecdote. That's all you need to know about the laws of survival in our family".
