Wolfgang Van Halen - Mammoth WVH - Distance (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
“As my pop continued to struggle with various health issues, I was imagining what my life would be like without him and how terribly I’d miss him. While the song is incredibly personal, I think anyone can relate to the idea of having a profound loss in their life. I never intended ‘Distance’ to be the very first piece of music people would hear from me, but I also thought my father would be here to celebrate its release. This is for him. I love and miss you, Pop.” - WVH Proceeds from “Distance” will be donated to Pop’s favorite charity, Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation "Distance" I’m so happy You’ve found a place That’s better for you Than this rock we’re living on I’m so nervous Don’t know my place A life without you I’m not ready to move on No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is you’ll be okay I’m so tired Can’t see your face My memory of you Slowly fades when I go on I’m still cryin’ Don’t want this place A world without you I don’t think I’ll ever move on No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is you’ll be okay No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is you’ll be okay No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is you’ll be okay No matter what the distance is I will be with you No matter what the distance is you’ll be okay No matter what the distance is you’ll be okay No matter what the distance is you’ll be okay I’m so happy You’ve found a place #Distance #EVH #EddieVanHalen #WolfgangVanHalen #VanHalen #MammothWVH #Mammoth #WVH @VanHalen

I can hear it in his voice at the end, the love he had for you its just so amazing and bittersweet to hear his voice telling you that he loves you. Absolutely amazing. Thank you for this. Part of me feels guilty that all those years your father dedicated to making music and touring, and entertaining all of us, was time you could have had with him, and that's something no one can ever truly thank you for. Warms my heart a bit to see him living on through you and more amazing music to come for many years.

Sounds exactly like Nickelback. If I were EVH, I would be totally hurt. His own son would rather sound like a horseshit grunge has-been band than his rock legend father.

I can feel the warmth of the love you shared with your dad. I wish I had some words to comfort you, but words are utterly useless in moments like this. Van Halen fans worldwide share your loss, but no one can understand how YOU feel. Much love and warm wish, Wolfie. Your pops would be proud. Ignore the haters and follow the music in your heart, 'cause Eddie will always be there.

I saw and met your dad in the early days in Pasadena a few times. Ed was quiet and humble and driven, but his talent was powerful. That combination is a win-win. Those were the BEST house parties and park performances. I'm 66 years old and I remember those like yesterday. You dad was a very sweet man and obvious you were his number one man. That was a lovely, lovely tribute to your father. It brought tears to my eyes. Stay strong Wolf because your dad would want that from you. I have to say that's one of the best songs I've heard from you. Take care of yourself and good luck with your career. We are all waiting❤

You totally kick ass dude! Just be you! Forget about the little bitches expecting you to imitate your dad's playing. Just like your dad didn't give a shit because he didn't play you really got me like the original artists. It's all about you now. Great job buddy👍👍. So sorry for your loss. For decades Les Paul held the title of greatest inventor and innovator of the guitar. Your dad became the new Les Paul of his time. Keep the Wolfgang series guitar and 5150 line going strong! I'm saving my cash and will buy both. The 5150 and EVH series belongs next to Gibson Les Paul as thetop choice for rock and roll guitarist. Your dad totally deserves that! Les Paul himself would agree and would personally endorse your family brand if he was still with us! Trust me bro! Your dad and grandfather Jan are shaking the foundation of heaven jamming out with Les Paul 👍👍👍. You'll surpass the success of your dad just like he became a master and succeeded over his dad. It's in your blood! Plus you're a paisan. You got Italian running in your veins! 👍👍👍

Does anyone realize that Wolfgang Played every Instrument on this song. Been sitting on the shelf for a couple of years. Finally found the appropriate time to pull it out and touch it up. Vocals were done at Wolfgangs studio, and the instrumentals were put together at his Fathers 5150 studio. Wonderful introduction song and tribute from Wolfgang Van Halen. Album coming out in 2021.

Wolf, this is an amazing song. As a longtime Van Halen fan who grew up with them, being the same age, it's so awesome to see you come into your own with this heart and gut wrenching beautiful song. With your great vocals and music behind those words... seriously your best...and I've followed you since you were born, not in a creepy way, lol, just curious as to who you would become with such famous parents and the ridiculous pressure that is placed on their children. With this song, in my opinion, Wolfgang Van Halen just stepped out and showed everyone who HE is. I wish you all the best on your journey. I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved father. Peace, Elizabeth Bullins

Wolfgang! Beautiful and powerful song and great video - love how the guitar solo is in sync with the video of you and the guitar. Liked your interview with Howard, too, very humble dude, you are. We miss your dad dearly, but the music never stops and looking forward to hearing the whole album and seeing you on tour!

Man, this is making my eyes well up. Kid lost his pops, we lost a music icon. I'd say guitar icon, but Ed was way more. I met him in 2007, spent about 45 min with him and his now widow - as they sat at my table @ the Steak Joynt in Universal City. Meeting him had a profound effect on me, how cool & down to earth he was. Wolf music is good, radio friendly

The guitar solo "Cathedral" was the first guitar solo track that I ever listened to and I fell in love with it. There is something about Eddie Van Halen that you could describe as a "candle in the darkness," but it's brighter than the analogy. You can hear it in the major chords that Eddie set as the foundations for many of VHs better-known songs ("Standing on top of the World," "Shine On"). Wolfie, there is something very special that runs in your family and it needs to be shared with the world. You hold the torch. Keep making music and lifting us up. God bless you, your Mom, and Janie.

My stepfather passed 13 years ago of cancer. I wished to god my family kept footage in the way your family has. I have a few pictures of us here and there. I was 4 when I met rob. I was 14 when he passed. Doctors gave him 6 months. He lived 6 years. It was 6 years of torture for him, and for my mother and me. My mother was an rn, and she became his full time nurse. Seeing your husband dwindle took every bit of life out of my mother as cancer took from my step dad. I understand your pain Wolfgang... it does not become easier in time but the memories will become sweeter. Amazing song my brother

I can't stop listening to this song and watching the video. It makes me cry every time, the love between Wolfie and Eddie was extraordinary. I was never a concert goer, but I listened to videos on MTV, while I was caring for my husband, recovering from cancer surgeries and my newborn baby girl. This song and the audio at the end, your father sounds like he could be me or any layperson who loves their children so intently. I think this will help fans cope with the loss of your father, a loving father and musical genius. God bless you Wolfie.
