Gardner-White Furniture of Michigan advertised on this video too. Did they pay you? I think they may be hijacking your videos to try to sell their call me furniture. I think they are going after phone numbers that are just in Michigan.

I wish I was Canadian. I’m worried about one of us getting sick and having to spend our entire retirement savings on medical and prescriptions not covered by insurance. It would be one less thing to worry about. Always enjoy your videos.

Hey Shawn,
I watch Townsend channel. Their latest was a road trip to look at the oldest cabins, existing in America. Little did I know, the cabins were designed to be covered outside, to aid longevity. One was built in the 1600's!!! You may find it interesting to watch, on a rainy evening. :)

I have a question about your new porch. How are going enter the porch? Are you going to make a doorway to it from the sidewall of the house?

The cabin looks bad now with the porch, it’s bulky and taking over the front view of the cabin.
I miss the old look 💔

Mr. James, I've grown to love Canada, I'm from the states but I've gone fishing there probably 20 times at Meadow Lake Fishing Camp 60 miles north of Kamloops, have you ever heard of it? We stay in log cabins, use firewood for heat and hike to the many lakes to enjoy incredible fishing. You live in an environment I've dreamed of for years. Of course I realize you have put an incredible amount of hard work building your home in the wilderness. It's a pleasure to watch you pursue your dream of living in the wild. Thanks for providing us with an enjoyable, relaxing escape from the concrete jungle.

you, sir, are living a dream many of us wish to be able to live some day. congrats on building every but of it with your own hands!

The only thing I worry about is that you may be using wood that isn't seasoned, that is, it is "green" wood, which as you know will shrink when it dries. I see you cutting down the trees and then using them right away for your projects.

Question, have you ever had a water dozing (don't know if I spelled that right) done on your property near the cabin, you've not mentioned it that I know of and why is you're bathroom so far away from the cabin? If you where as old as I am , that sure as hell be a factor.
My Self Reliance
My Self Reliance - 9 days ago
I can witch water myself actually. The issue near the cabin is that it's perched on bedrock, the valleys are the only places with deep soil and a high enough water table to access without drilling.

My Self Reliance, Beautiful project, nice job! Have not seem the tv probably 3 years, now i enjoy your movies, it relaxing after the work day. I see you have a garden, self made everything. You work 12 hours a day, but you work for your self and you like it. The cabins you made is other than in Europe, happy to see how it really looks like the joiner work in other continent. Keep doing, will share your best work to others friends, is amazing what you do :)

Found this channel today, haven''t been able to stop watching! You are amazing and please just keep up your awesome work and let us follow you on whatever journeyor challenge you take in life! Also loves seeing you with your family when they come and visit and your relationship with your dog :) You are a great woodworker and even though I'm terrible myself, it feels like I'm learning from you :)
And now just a totally dumb amateur question but: why do you sometimes use nails with the boards and sometimes screws? Really don't know anything and just curious :) Love your stuff!
